Squigs Captures the Scintillating and Sanctified World of Scandalous, Starring Carolee Carmello

Tony nominee Carolee Carmello stars in Scandalous, a blessed Broadway musical from Kathie Lee Gifford, David Pomeranz and David Friedman, about the life of 1920s revivalist and broadcasting pioneer Aimee Semple McPherson. With elaborate dance numbers, glitzy costumes and a colorful real-life heroine whose passion for saving souls was matched by her passion for making headlines, Scandalous co-stars (clockwise from left) Candy Buckley as McPherson's fundamentalist mother Minnie Kennedy, Roz Ryan as brothel madam Emma Jo Schaeffer, Edward Watts as charming L.A. actor David Hutton, Andrew Samonsky as radio technician Kenneth Ormiston and George Hearn as holy roller Brother Bob. About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home.
